Teacher Training

Teachers often need a motivational boost in order to keep them energized about the meaningful work they do with children. Parenting with Purpose provides training sessions for educators that address specific needs of the teachers within the organization. Training sessions can address:

  • Rediscovering the larger purpose behind teaching children
  • Communicating with parents to create a team-approach in helping children achieve goals
  • Creating effective routines that make learning fun, safe and meaningful
  • Conflict resolution techniques that smooth relationships between children, co-workers, and parents

Specific workshops could include:

The Calm & Compassionate Child: Together, we’ll learn how to create environments at school and at home that enable children to learn and grow most effectively. Many of the strategies revolve around rituals and routines that you may already use with children, but we’ll learn new ways to engage children in a manner that encourages more peaceful transitions and helps them to learn self-soothing techniques.

The Whole Child: Developmental milestones in each of four areas will be addressed in this 60 minute workshop. We review the range of “normal” development in the areas of intellectual, physical, social/emotional and spiritual realms. Participants will learn easy techniques to identify the strengths in each of the children in your class and how to build upon those while addressing areas of possible weakness.

Communicating with Parents: Truly effective educational experiences happen when seen as a team effort. Teachers, parents, and children can work together to optimize behavior, increase learning capacities and model appropriate adult interactions. Parenting can be a frightening experience for new moms and dads; they may need more guidance and reassurance than a “seasoned” parent. We’ll talk about ways to share children’s strengths and discuss those first signs of a potential problem.
